The Dimensions of School Bullying in Cyprus
October 7, 2024
School bullying has become a significant issue in recent years, affecting children both as perpetrators and victims, not only in Cyprus but globally. According to a World Health Organization study, 4.3% of students admit to having bullied others, while 7.8% report being bullied themselves. In Cyprus, boys are more involved in bullying compared to girls, although socioeconomic status does not appear to significantly influence these rates. Prevention and intervention efforts against bullying are important challenges for the school community.
