First Case of West Nile Virus in Cyprus: Update and Protection Measures

The first case of West Nile virus for 2024 has been diagnosed in Cyprus, involving an elderly man from the village of Mammari who is hospitalized in the ICU. The virus is primarily transmitted by infected mosquitoes and not from person to person.
