Fines Imposed on Doctors and Pharmacists by OAY

The Health Insurance Organization (OAY) imposed fines totaling €49,100 on 51 health service providers, including doctors and pharmacists, last month. The largest fine of €30,000 was levied on a dermatologist for incorrect reimbursements and unjustified services. Other doctors and general practitioners faced fines for excessive referrals and prescriptions. Additionally, a pharmacist provided quantities of medicines exceeding those recommended by physicians.
