Government Pressures for Returning State Land to a Private Company

There are challenges facing the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) regarding the return of a state piece of land in Vasilikos, currently leased to PEC, a rival company. EAC's labor unions have warned management not to proceed with the land's return, citing serious consequences and demanding transparency. There are government pressures to transfer the land to PEC, with proposed concessions to EAC. However, state land allocation processes for renewable energy remain suspended until new regulations are voted on.
