In the upcoming US elections, there is a possibility that Kamala Harris and Donald Trump could each receive an equal number of electoral votes. If this happens, Congress will determine the next president, with each state casting one vote in the process. However, such a tie is nearly impossible, having only occurred twice in US history. This possibility could also heighten the existing political tensions in the country.
