Movement of Iceberg A23a from Antarctica
December 15, 2024
The world's largest iceberg, A23a, has started moving again, drifting away from Antarctica. It covers an area of 3,800 square kilometers and was stationary for over 30 years. It is now moving north, and scientists are monitoring it to see if it will enter the Atlantic Ocean. It is expected to break into smaller pieces and eventually melt in the warmer waters there.
