Challenges in Investigating Medical Malpractice Cases in Cyprus

The investigation process for medical malpractice complaints in Cyprus faces numerous issues and often remains open for years. Currently, there are at least 10 ongoing cases, with tense relations between the police and medical professionals. Complaints have increased, primarily due to the GHS and recent convictions of doctors. Proposals for compensating doctors involved in investigations are on the table, but this collaboration has yet to be formalized.
