Cost of the 'Pay-As-You-Throw' Measure for Consumers

The "Pay-As-You-Throw" scheme estimates that annual costs for consumers will range from €150 to €250. The Minister highlighted the necessity of implementing the measure as it has been delayed, indicating it's essential for reducing waste in Cyprus. Although the cost is higher than what households currently pay, the goal is to improve waste management. The government will support Local Authorities financially to implement the system.
