Enhancing Support for Women and Girls at Risk of Female Genital Mutilation

A conference held in Cyprus highlighted the need to support women and girls seeking asylum at risk of female genital mutilation (FGM). The event, dedicated to World Zero Tolerance Day for FGM, emphasized the serious physical and psychosocial consequences of this practice. The director of MIGS stressed the importance of collective action and political willingness to eradicate FGM. Approximately 230 million women globally have undergone this practice, with millions of girls at risk.
