Aliyev's Support for the Pseudostate and Implications for Diplomatic Relations

Ilham Aliyev is offering support to the occupying regime in Cyprus, as Azerbaijan is one of the few countries backing the recognition of the pseudostate. Aliyev expressed that Azerbaijan will continue to support the Turkish Cypriots and their efforts for international recognition. However, protests are ongoing regarding the embassies of Central Asian countries in the Republic of Cyprus. The Turkish Cypriot leader, Ersin Tatar, expressed gratitude for Aliyev's support.
