New Central Bank Guidelines on Combating Money Laundering

The Central Bank of Cyprus has announced new guidelines aimed at combating money laundering and terrorism financing. These guidelines stress the importance for financial institutions to closely monitor transactions and identify suspicious activities. Special attention is given to clients who provide inadequate or misleading information, as well as unusual transactions that do not align with the client's economic profile. The guidelines will take effect on June 2, 2025.
