In Belgium, fifty-two children were born between 2008 and 2017 using sperm from a donor with a cancer-causing mutation. This donor, residing in Denmark, has a rare genetic mutation linked to a high risk of cancer. Ten of the children have been diagnosed with cancer, raising concerns among the families affected. The Belgian Ministry of Health indicated that this issue may also involve other European countries.
