Growth in Number and Wealth of Millionaires Worldwide

The number of millionaires worldwide increased by 2.6% in the past year, reaching 23.4 million in 2024, mainly due to rising stock prices and advancements in artificial intelligence. The U.S. saw the largest increase, adding 562,000 new millionaires. In contrast, Europe experienced a decline in the number of wealthy individuals by 2.1%, although the ultra-rich increased by 3.5%. Major wealth transfers are expected in the coming years, with $83.5 trillion set to change hands.
