Delays in Justice Reforms in Cyprus
June 22, 2025
The justice system in Cyprus is facing delays in reforms that were supposed to start in 2021. Michalis Vorkas, president of the Cyprus Bar Association, emphasizes the lack of public trust due to these delays and the urgent need for an independent judiciary agency. He points out that many modernization proposals remain inactive, which negatively impacts the functioning of democracy. Vorkas calls for immediate actions to promote reforms in the justice sector.
