Feasibility Study for Upgrading Waste Management in Cyprus

The Department of Environment in Cyprus is initiating a feasibility study to create a comprehensive waste management infrastructure network to comply with European directives. Municipal waste management presents a significant challenge as Cyprus has high waste production rates and low recycling percentages. The new strategies aim to reduce landfill waste to 10% by 2035 and increase recycling rates. The study seeks to enhance the circular economy and environmental protection in Cyprus.
