Proposals for Limiting Sperm Donors in Europe
July 9, 2025
Six European countries are proposing limits on sperm and egg donors after reports of donors having fathered hundreds of children. The proposal aims to set boundaries on how many children a donor can have and emphasizes the need for a common donor registry in the EU. The countries involved are Sweden, Belgium, France, Hungary, the Netherlands, and Spain, with Cyprus also supporting the initiative.
