In the last decade, three major wildfires in Cyprus have resulted in the loss of eight lives and the destruction of vast forest areas. Every four years, these fires leave behind casualties and incalculable damage, with the causes remaining uncertain and government agencies appearing unprepared. Many factors contribute to these disasters, including weather conditions and human actions. The most recent major fire in the Mountainous Limassol region has been particularly deadly and highlighted gaps in fire prevention and management policies.
