Putin's Suggestions for Ending the Conflict in Ukraine

Vladimir Putin has asked Ukraine to withdraw from the eastern region of Donetsk as a condition for ending the war. He suggested that he could 'freeze' military actions in other areas if his demands are met. Donald Trump conveyed these proposals to Ukrainian President Zelensky. Russian forces control about 70% of Donetsk, and Zelensky seems unlikely to accept the surrender of the area. However, he is open to discussions about territorial sovereignty.
