New Attempt to Delay the Installation of Energy Storage

August 17, 2025

The Electricity Market Association is attempting to delay the installation of centralized energy storage. Despite previous failed interventions to the European Commission, the association has submitted a new letter to the Regulatory Authority for Energy. The Authority has already approved three storage systems for the AHK network. The Transmission System Operator has launched a tender for the installation of the batteries, with an estimated cost of 41 million euros. The deadline for bids is September 19.
