Impact of Delays in Water Management in Cyprus
September 30, 2025
The new special report from the Audit Office reveals that nearly a decade after the first report, many water management issues in Cyprus remain unresolved. Despite climate change and increasing demands, state authorities appear slow and ineffective. Out of 60 planned projects, only 14 have been completed, with significant delays present. Many dams are outdated and lack adequate safety certifications and inspections. The report warns that administrative weaknesses threaten the sustainable use of water resources.
