Investigation into Possible Abuse of Power by Constantinos Parmaklis

The Independent Anti-Corruption Authority is investigating potential criminal responsibilities of Constantinos Parmaklis, former director of the Nicosia Water Supply Council, in four cases of possible abuse of power. The investigation was prompted by a complaint from Pavlos Nikolaou and involves unlawful tenders and contracts related to shading systems procurement. If personal benefit is proven, penalties could reach up to 7 years of imprisonment. The case file has been forwarded to the Attorney General for further actions. The Authority notes that it is premature to discuss judicial conviction.
