Progress in Russia-Ukraine Negotiations Over Territories

Russia and Ukraine are nearing an agreement based on an American peace plan. The plan includes the transfer of eastern Ukrainian territories to Russia, particularly from Donetsk and Luhansk. However, Ukraine retains an important defensive zone in western Donetsk, which it refuses to cede. The capture of Donetsk by Russia would solidify its claims in the area. Progress has been made in negotiations, but final decisions have yet to be made.
