Indefinite Suspension of Metropolitan Tychikos by the Holy Synod

The Holy Synod of the Church of Cyprus has placed Metropolitan Tychikos on indefinite suspension due to his refusal to sign a declaration of repentance requested by the Synod. The declaration he submitted was deemed insufficient as it lacked necessary references. Tychikos was declared deposed last month, with ten Synod members voting in favor and six against. The decision includes proposed measures from the Holy Synod, while Tychikos may collaborate with the church in another capacity. His associations with groups considered extreme were a key reason for this decision.
