New Regulations for Rent Payments and Insurance Premiums in Cyprus

Starting July 2023, rent payments in Cyprus will be required to be made digitally to prevent the circulation of undeclared income. Individuals will still be taxed on rental income and must file a self-assessment for the GE.SY. Homeowners will be eligible for discounts on property insurance premiums. The tax reform also aims to support various insurance coverages. These changes will take effect from early 2026.
