Examination of the Election Process for the Metropolitan of Paphos by the Holy Synod

Archbishop Georgios is prepared to proceed with elections for the metropolitan throne of Paphos, regardless of the fate of the suspended Metropolitan Tychikos. The Holy Synod will consider the proposal for the election of the new Metropolitan to be conducted solely by the Synod, without the participation of the faithful. If the proposals receive a majority, the election process will be determined. The spokesperson for the Archdiocese expressed hope for the consensus of the Holy Synod. The outcome of today's sessions remains uncertain.
