Developments in Teacher Evaluation and the New Role of Senior Educator

The Monitoring Committee for the new teacher evaluation system has been working diligently to finalize evaluation criteria by the end of February. Drafts have been distributed to educational organizations for their feedback and suggestions. The proposed role of Senior Educator aims to encourage experienced teachers to remain in teaching rather than taking on administrative duties. Responsibilities of the Senior Educator will include mentoring new teachers and undertaking educational tasks. This process is the outcome of an extended discussion about teacher evaluation.
