Update from the Ministry of the Interior on the Investigation of the Paphos Mayor

The Ministry of the Interior has sent a letter to the police for updates regarding the investigation concerning the mayor of Paphos, Phaedon Phaedonos. The investigation was initiated following postings about allegations of domestic abuse against his wife, which have been denied by both. Interior Minister Konstantinos Ioannou will be informed about the investigation's findings and whether the suspension process for the mayor is necessary. If serious charges emerge, Article 113 of the law may be activated. This suspension process is linked to the criminal investigations and convictions of elected officials.
