UN Process for UNFICYP and the Role of Pakistan

Turkey has caused a mini-crisis at the UN with the help of Pakistan, which attempted to include positive references to Turkey in the resolution for UNFICYP. The Cypriot government was not surprised by this move, as it has happened before. The resolution is set to be voted on, although the process was postponed due to Pakistan's interference. President Christodoulides stated that Pakistan's comments are not favorable for Cyprus. The Greek Foreign Minister met with the UN Secretary-General and emphasized the importance of the Cyprus issue.
