Upgrade of Dekelia Power Station to Enhance Energy Security

The Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) is investing €180 million in an upgrade of its Dekelia Power Station to reduce electricity costs and improve energy security. The upgrade will include the installation of new production units and energy storage systems. The goal is to replace old, polluting units with more flexible and less harmful technologies. An environmental study for the project is currently in the public consultation phase. The new unit will also enhance production capacity and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
