Cyprus's Policy Towards Turkey Discussed in AFET

Cyprus's Foreign Minister, Constantinos Koumou, explained Cyprus's stance towards Turkey during a discussion in AFET. Cyprus does not exclude Turkey but emphasizes that compromises should come from Ankara. He highlighted that Turkey follows a policy of non-recognition of the Republic of Cyprus and that Cyprus is not responsible for the lack of progress in EU-Turkey relations. Koumou also mentioned public invitations made to Turkey for participation in meetings in Cyprus, which were publicly declined. Overall, he confirmed Cyprus's position for its integration into the Europe of 27 states without discrimination.
