February 13, 2026
The deportation of an Egyptian man was suspended due to the presence of his two minor children with a Cypriot partner. The court ruled that the best interests of the children must be considered before making a decision. The man had been convicted of domestic violence and had been living in the country illegally. Despite the seriousness of his offenses, the court emphasized the importance of protecting their family life. There will be a re-examination of the case in cooperation with the Social Welfare Services.
