Passing of Eleni Glykatzis-Arveler, Prominent Byzantine Scholar

Eleni Glykatzis-Arveler, the prominent Byzantine scholar and historian, passed away at the age of 99. She was the first female rector at the Sorbonne, known for her significant contributions to the study of Byzantium. Throughout her career, she received numerous awards, including the Grand Cross of the National Order of Merit in France. Her active presence in academia and interventions continued until the end of her life. Her contributions were recognized in many European countries.
