Submissions of Law Proposals for Changes in Foreclosure Regulations
February 20, 2026
Political parties are submitting law proposals for foreclosures to be discussed in the Parliament on March 9. Recently, four proposals addressing borrowers and guarantors were presented. The majority of parties aim to change the legal framework before the May elections. Concerns arise whether there will be enough time to discuss these proposals thoroughly before the dissolution of Parliament. The proposals include a freeze on foreclosures of primary residences valued up to €350,000 until the end of the year.
