Driver Arrested Following Worker’s Death in Accident

A 37-year-old driver was arrested in connection with a tragic accident on the Nicosia-Limassol highway. The driver accidentally hit and killed 70-year-old worker Savvas Ioannou, who was placing traffic cones. Ioannou sustained fatal injuries while performing his job. The driver, who suffered minor injuries, underwent alcohol and drug tests which returned negative, and was arrested to assist in ongoing investigations. The traffic police are continuing their examination of the incident.
