No Special Legislation for Influencers Planned
February 23, 2026
The Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry does not plan to introduce special legislation for influencers at this time. The Consumer Protection Agency believes that existing laws already provide sufficient consumer protection. Influencers are considered 'traders' and are required to comply with consumer protection laws. Efforts have been made to inform influencers and businesses about transparency in their posts. Spontaneous investigations are planned to ensure that their posts meet transparency requirements.
