Failure to Publicly Acquire Lake Magli Due to Non-implementation of Decisions

Lake Magli was not acquired by the public due to the failure of relevant authorities to implement the Cabinet's decisions. Despite previous commitments to allocate public space around the lake, owners proceeded with developments without necessary regulations. The Minister of Interior stated that the only realistic solution is to amend the Local Plan of Nicosia. The area is owned by three individuals, with the main shareholder being the Holy Metropolis of Kikkos. The lack of implementation of relevant regulations has led to difficulties in the public acquisition of the lake.
