Investigation into Criminal Responsibilities Regarding the Spread of Foot-and-Mouth Disease

The Larnaca Police are investigating possible criminal responsibilities related to the spread of foot-and-mouth disease in Cyprus. After an emergency meeting, an investigative team was formed to examine all incidents. Depositions have already been taken from farmers and veterinary officials. The investigation is looking into whether there was negligence on the part of Veterinary Services or the farmers. There are also reports suggesting that the spread may have originated from individuals transporting hay from the occupied areas.
