Renowned Cypriot chef Andreas Mavrommatis passed away at the age of 69. He was a co-owner of the Maison Mavrommátis restaurant chain, which offers a blend of Greek and French cuisine. Born in the village of Ayios Ioannis Pitsilias, he moved to Paris in 1977 for studies, where he discovered his passion for cooking. In 1981, he and his brother opened their first grocery store, later expanding into the restaurant business. His success represents a significant contribution to Greek gastronomy in France.
