Origin of Taxi Drivers in Cyprus

In Cyprus, nearly half of taxi drivers are not Cypriots. According to the Minister of Transport, drivers come from 22 different countries, with approximately 10% being from Greece and Georgia. Additionally, it is noted that holding a professional license does not necessarily mean someone is working as a driver. The minister states that the Department of Road Transport does not have detailed employment data for license holders. The diversity in countries of origin may matter, but professional drivers are trained.
