UK Declines to Send Warships to the Middle East
March 16, 2026
The British Prime Minister has declined to send warships to the Middle East for the protection of oil tankers. The leaders agreed on the need to restore order, but they do not have a common approach on how to achieve this. Instead, the UK will send drones for mine detection and missile interception. Additionally, the Lyme Bay ship is heading to Cyprus to assist with potential evacuations. The Prime Minister will announce support plans for households affected by price increases due to the war in Iran.
