The Vaccination Process and Its Implications for Livestock in Cyprus

The Cypriot livestock industry is undergoing a challenging process to eradicate foot-and-mouth disease. Every vaccinated animal must be culled for Cyprus to be declared disease-free. Legislation requires the removal of all vaccinated animals before restoring the country's free status. This process includes intensive monitoring of animal health for three months after their removal. Veterinary services are responsible for managing the vaccination zone, which now covers the entire island of Cyprus.
