Activation of Patient Rights Officers in Hospitals
April 2, 2026
Patient rights officers have started working in both public and private hospitals, assisting patients facing issues with healthcare services. They provide information about patient rights, examine complaints, and attempt to resolve issues promptly. Citizens can approach them if they feel they are not being properly served. The law requires that there is at least one officer in each major medical center. The Patient Ombudsman, Marios Charalambides, and his team conduct on-site visits to ensure that relevant legislation is being followed.
