Increase in Beneficiaries and Grants for Student Support

The Parliament approved amendments to the state student maintenance law, expanding the beneficiaries by 3,200 families. Income criteria are lifted for families with more than five dependent children, and student grants are increased by 10% for families with an annual income of up to €44,000. Additionally, restrictions on receiving any other tax relief are removed. Some parliamentarians suggest further improvements to include families with four children. The law is expected to alleviate the financial situation for many families.
