Developments on the Metropolitan Throne of Paphos

Following the passing of Metropolitan Tychikos, there are many candidates for the throne of Paphos, but so far only Bishop Nikolaos of Amathus has openly stated he is not interested. An election campaign has already begun by one candidate who is trying to gain support within the local community, despite expected changes to the Statute of the Church that may restrict parishioners' participation in the elections. The election process remains unclear as the Holy Synod considers the opinions of the faithful. These developments are expected to unfold after Easter.
