U.S. Military Strategy to Enhance Control Over Iranian Vessels
April 18, 2026
The U.S. military is planning raids and seizures of vessels linked to Iran in international waters, increasing pressure on Tehran. This move comes as tensions in the Strait of Hormuz remain high and Iranian forces bolster their presence. The U.S. aims to ensure free passage through the maritime route and seek concessions regarding Iran's nuclear program. So far, 23 vessels attempting to leave Iranian ports have been intercepted. The strategy also includes monitoring ships transporting Iranian oil and other weapon supplies.
