OAY: New Indicator for Monitoring Referral Tests

The Health Insurance Organization (OAY) is introducing a new performance indicator to monitor referrals for laboratory tests. The aim is to assess the increase in tests that is not justified by the epidemiological situation. Doctors will be monitored based on the number of referrals in relation to the patients they see. Evaluations will occur quarterly, with no financial repercussions for the doctors. The goal is to make doctors more aware of their test utilization.
