Tragedy in Aegina: Infant Dies from Choking

A tragedy struck in Aegina, where a 20-month-old girl choked at home on a piece of tsoureki. Her parents rushed her to the Aegina Health Center in a panic. Doctors made enormous efforts to save her, but her condition worsened. She was urgently transferred to Piraeus, where resuscitation attempts continued. Unfortunately, despite all efforts, the little girl did not survive and her death was pronounced.
