In the parliamentary elections scheduled for May 24, 2026, 753 candidates have submitted their nominations, which is an increase of 100 compared to the previous elections. Out of these, 744 belong to party alliances and 9 are independent candidates. 70.3% of the candidates are men, while 29.7% are women. In the Nicosia district, a total of 261 nominations were submitted from 18 party alliances and 4 independent candidates. The candidates are competing for a seat in the Parliament.
