Significant Amount of Cash Found in Vehicle Check

The Customs Authority discovered over €208,000 in cash in a vehicle attempting to cross the checkpoint at Agios Dometios. The vehicle's occupants, a 49-year-old Turkish Cypriot woman and her 50-year-old husband, could not provide satisfactory explanations for the cash's origin. The breakdown of the amount included various currencies. The total has been withheld for further investigation. The case is being handled by the Investigation Sector of the Customs Authority.
