Imam sentenced for sexual abuse under the guise of spiritual treatment

Imam Abdul Halim Khan sexually assaulted seven women and girls, pretending to provide treatment for evil spirits. He would warn victims that they would be cursed if they spoke about the abuse. His youngest victim was only 12 years old. Police became aware of his actions in 2018 after one victim reported it to a school counselor. Khan was sentenced to life in prison, despite the initial disbelief from the victims' families.
